Child

11/06/08 @ 16:31
Children laughing, playing,
Can you share in their joy?
Open your heart and be one with them?
If you cannot, ask yourself why.
There was once a child inside you,
And can be again.

Apple Tree

9/06/08 @ 15:03

Apple tree,
You share your gift of love so freely.
Your blossom is beauty made manifest.
I want to capture it,
To bottle it and have it with me always.
But I know it cannot be so,
For beauty is free and will always be.
It cannot be tamed, or caged, or held on to.
Beauty is what is left when fear drops away.
Beauty is your home,
And it is who you really are.

All living things grow from rich compost, and so often it is the things that we let go of and the experiences of suffering we have had along the way that enable our beauty to really flourish.

Innermost

8/06/08 @ 17:33
Can you speak,
Of the heavenly place that has no name,
And no words to express it?

Can you open,
To a love that is blessing you,
Even as you choose to close your heart to it?

Can you imagine,
A sound that has no sound,
But a vibration all of its own?

Can you trust,
That beauty is here to stay,
Forever and ever and ever again?

Whenever we are creating or expressing, the quality of the result is imbued with our state of consciousness at the time. Thus pretty words can come through without the beauty behind them, if the mind is clever enough. And while the mind may marvel at these things and be impressed… yes, impressed upon even… it will not feed our spirit and soul. What we really need most is to be drawn into resonance with our highest selves, with our true essence. And this occurs naturally when we are exposed to those things that are created from that connected place. So, if we must have a goal, then let it be to express our innermost in everything we do.

Honesty

5/06/08 @ 23:28
Communication brings clarity,
Honesty brings change.

I pride myself on my honesty, to not knowingly lie to others, but I must ask myself: “Am I lying to myself?” And, perhaps even more pressingly, “is the way I live a lie?” You may have heard of the saying “a lie of omission” - staying silent, which although technically not lying is deceiving or deliberating withholding information. So real honesty means communicating with others what we are feeling, from the heart, opening and being vulnerable. It means speaking our truth, the things we feel are true, or the things we are moved to share. It means standing up for what we believe in and who we really are, instead of presenting some half truth or pretend mask of ourselves. Only once we are honest can we reach the kinds of resolutions in our relationships that our peace of mind desires. Only then can we allow the true power of our energy to flow.

To Be Truly Heard

5/06/08 @ 0:02
Open Heart before me,
As I speak,
I am truly heard.

It is a real blessing to be truly heard, to have someone or even a group of someone’s, listening from their heart to what you have to say and express, without any agenda. This is the way we can be acknowledged for our own unique individuality and worth, and communicate in a way that transforms relationships into something beautiful and honouring.

Wild Is The Gong

1/06/08 @ 0:33
Quiet is the gong,
Offering space, silence,
A way to heal the pain,
Of separation.

Caring is the gong,
Seeping into my body,
Honouring every cell,
And every atom.

Safe is the gong,
Holding me with open arms,
Speaking through years of wisdom,
And of hope.

Wild is the gong,
As the sound takes hold,
The sound is the way,
The sound.

A special thank you to all those who heal with their voices and their musicianship. Sound is the way.

Opening

29/05/08 @ 21:03
The open heart;
When all that has gone before is erased.
This is freedom from past pains and conditioning.
This is the lightness that we crave.

When we open our hearts, our lives literally transform. We see the world differently, we feel it, and we realize we are not who we thought we were. There are things in life that the mind cannot understand but that the heart can. If we are fortunate enough to see this, then the mind will see how important the heart is, and it will no longer fight it or dominate it, but seek to work together with it. This is the heart-mind in action.
