Transitioning
“Please keep your seatbelts fastened until we come to a complete standstill.”
Making transitions, or slowing down to a more natural pace, can certainly bring some discomfort. Like when we apply brakes strongly and suddenly when driving our cars. But once the jerk of being thrown forwards is out of the way, we can feel such relief. Perhaps the best way is to be as alert as we can so that our transitions are as smooth as possible. And when we can’t, then just remember that “this too shall pass”.

Sound advice, often when making a transition of any kindpart of what we have to deal with is fear of the change.
There is a part of our psyche that hates change, it knows that it survived yesterday, therefore if it keeps doing the same thing it will continue to survive.
Once you realise the truth, that constant change is all there is, the transitions become easier, in fact, they never stop.

Yes, this discomfort with change is directly related to the strength of our illusions of things being the same or able to stay the same. Or more personally, that we will stay the same, some fixed identity, the ego. Each moment is unique, and each person. There will never be a Lewis quite like me at this moment. There will never be a you like you are at this moment. Doesn’t that make you feel utterly worthy?!
