Or more personally, that we will stay the same, some fixed identity, the ego. Each moment is unique, and each person. There will never be a Lewis quite like me at this moment. There will never be a you like you are at this moment. Doesn't that make you feel utterly worthy?! There is a part of our psyche that hates change, it knows that it survived yesterday, therefore if it keeps doing the same thing it will continue to survive. Once you realise the truth, that constant change is all there is, the transitions become easier, in fact, they never stop. ;-) Sound advice, often when making a transition of any kindpart of what we have to deal with is fear of the change.

There is a part of our psyche that hates change, it knows that it survived yesterday, therefore if it keeps doing the same thing it will continue to survive.

Once you realise the truth, that constant change is all there is, the transitions become easier, in fact, they never stop. ;-)
