Return To Source

Ice breaks,
Rivers flow;
The sea consumes all.

Each drop of water may be separate, but it will always return to its source. Rains fall, waters evaporate, rivers flow from melted ice atop mountains down to merge with the sea. This is the way of things.

In life we may divide and separate things into this and that, or here and there, but it is a mistake to think that there is any reality in those divisions. Light and dark may seem to be separate, but what if there was no light, could dark then exist? Darkness is the absense of light, so if light does not exist, how can we define darkness?

We could go round in circles with these kinds of reasonings, but there really is no need. Separate or not, manifest or not, what is individual will become collective, and what is collective will become into individual. Sound comes from Silence and then returns to Silence, and so do we. From the Void all things come, and to the Void all things must return.

    I love equilibrium. The concept that is, as opposed to the film..

    Though the film was excellent too..

    Ah, yes, twas a good film indeed, good old Beany…

    Balance is such a tricky thing… ultimately the balance we seek is a dynamic balance.. the difference between balancing by laying down (no movement) and keeping your balance as you run or jump or somersault (lots of movement). I think that’s what the Middle Way is all about, and why it can be confusing at first. It seems like it should be the point equidistant between extremes, but in practice it can be seen that clinging to that static point is just as useless as clinging to the absolutes at each end of the scale. A person *constantly* acting “not too aggressive or passive” would be acting inappropriately. There are times when aggressiveness is called for, and likewise passivity. The same can be said of just about any example in duality.

    An interesting line of questioning you’ve opened up for me there bub, this could very well be an article in itself!
