I now have a MySpace account

A quick post to let you know that I’ve joined MySpace.com in my capacity as (one-man) band. It’s a handy place to put on songs to let people have a listen, and maybe leave a comment or two. You make friends, share music, make connections. I figured, why not? It exposes those who don’t make it to this site to my music, and perhaps will encourage people there to come and have a look here.

For the moment, I’ve got the 4 songs that I have in the music section here online, but there is a cool picture of me, so maybe it’s worth a look just for that. Find me at http://www.myspace.com/abarefootman. Enjoy.

Fly - $3 - Fly

There is something hugely uplifting about groups of birds sweeping across the sky. For a moment, watching becomes being, and it’s you up there free and wild, playful in the wind, dancing.

Compare that to a jumbo jet, hulking and ridiculous gliding straight and true through the air, so unnatural looking.

What is flying without grace? What is travelling for the sake of the destination and not the journey? Where’s the fun in going from here to there if you can’t do a few swoops along the way?
